On Sunday 21st October, the Saint John’s Community participated in the annual Mrs. Catherine Knight Walkathon event. As the community gathered for the event, under the blue skies overhead, the participants were led in a warm-up as House spirit began to simmer. The participants were then set off on their way to run, jog or walk the required distance to gain House points for their Houses. Some students had been practicing during the build-up to the event by Walking to School, another House activity. As the participants from different Houses crossed the finish line, it was clear that we had families large and small, young and old taking part. The events saw Darwin earn 141 points for their House, Cochrane 116, Drake 112 and Shackleton 97. Overall, a great morning was had by all and House Points were won to contribute towards the winning of the House cup at the end of the year.
